With a private tour, you’re the boss!

In addition to offering our daily tours, SANDEMANs NEW Prague also offers two excellent services. Firtly we’ve now gotten really good at developing unique tours that suit the needs of an individual group perfectly. Secondly we’re really proud of the method of educational entertainment we can offer to school groups, allowing both the teachers and the students to become locals in a fun and engaging way.

Whether you represent a school group looking for “the most charismatic and entertaining guides in the business” (Cosmopolitan Magazine UK, 2005), or need to book a guide who is “more than the usual” for a business client (BBC Television), or simply need a “genuinely informative” trip around the city on your quick visit to German’s capital (Rick Steves 2006), New Prague Tours has the guides you’re looking for.

The advantage of doing a private tour is simply that you have your own personal tour guide. You can decide where the tour starts from, where it should finish and how long it lasts. But the major advantage of this option is that the guide can cater specifically for your area of interest.

Should you be particularly interested in twentieth century history, you could concentrate on that; if medieval history is more your thing, that’s fine too. You choose! Not interested in the sights or history of Prague and just want to be shown around the city or quite simply do some shopping, eating or drinking in the best areas, let our private tour team arrange it for you.

With over 100 tours offered daily and 4 million guests served since 2004, we’re one of the biggest walking tour companies in the world.

We guarantee a memorable tour that is out of the ordinary: all at a reasonable price. Our tours are conceived to show you the best of Prague by foot, but like we say, you’re in charge and we can arrange private cars, busses, boats, and helicopters and almost all of our tours can be done on bike!

Some of our most popular private tours include:

NEW Prague City Tour

This 3.5 general walking tour of Prague that goes deeper than just introducing the sites; we delve into the city’s amazing history, from the darkest hours to the brightest moments. Start your visit in Prague with the original New Prague City Tour; Prague’s incredible history is best seen on foot and this tour is the best way to get to know the city.

Prague Castle Tour

Prague Castle dominates both the skyline and the history of the Czech capital like no other building. The world’s largest medieval castle has towered over the city since the 9th century and continues to awe and inspire today. The Castle, Pražský hrad, is a world unto itself with dozens of hidden corners and surprises. The remarkably harmonious ensemble of contrasting styles is the product of generations of gifted architects, culminating in the 20th century with the forgotten genius of Jože Plečnik. Our guides bring to life the legendary court of Rudolf II, the nightmares of Kafka and the very real struggles of the Velvet Revolution.

Kutná Hora Tour

The macabre sight of Kutná Hora’s bone chapel draws visitors from all over the world. Just one hour outside of Prague lies this gem of Bohemian history, home to much more than piles of skulls and bones. It was the economic power-house of the Kingdom of Bohemia and played a crucial role in the 15th century Hussite Wars. Today Kutná Hora is one of the most popular destinations in the Czech republic because of its amazing collection of historic buildings, including the ghoulish Sedlec Ossuary, the Gothic masterpiece of St Barbara’s Church and the splendour of the Italian Court. This rich heritage was born in the boom days when Kutná Hora competed with Prague economically and culturally, becoming the favourite residence of several Bohemian kings. How did it get so rich? They made money by making money… literally: they mined the silver that produced the ‘Prague Groschen’ – the hard currency of Central Europe at that time.
